The U.S. Department of Transportation approved Frontier Airlines’ proposal to begin flying between O’Hare International Airport in Chicago to Matanzas, Cuba and Santiago de Cuba.  Flights to Matanzas will fly once a week and will run once per day to Santiago.  The carrier plans on beginning the flights to Cuba in December.

Although visiting Cuba is not as easy as visiting other countries like France or China and would have to be justified, it’s great to have airlines expanding their routes to be able to visit..  Examples of the types of trips permitted to Cuba are humanitarian missions and family visits.
